QPIXEL TECHNOLOGY OPENS OFFICE IN JAPAN
Growth in Japanese Customer Base and Demand for Qpixel Semiconductor Products Fuel Corporate Expansion
TOKYO, February 6, 2007/ CUPERTINO, Calif., February 5, 2007 -- Qpixel Technology, an innovator in video compression technology and silicon platforms, today announced it has opened a new international office to better address the increasing demand for Qpixel’s products in Japan. The Tokyo-based office enables Qpixel to work more closely with its local distributors in the country to offer sales and technical support services to its fast growing base of customers. In addition, Qpixel is pleased to announce that Mr. Yuzo Tsukui has joined the company as Japan Country Manager and will oversee all sales activities in that country.
Qpixel’s latest addition to the QL200 product family of low power, high quality, Main Profile H.264 encoder/decoder solutions, the QL201B, has sparked a great deal of interest from major Japanese consumer electronics manufacturers of portable audio/video consumer devices
and digital home products. Starting with Buffalo as the first Japanese customer to ship a Qpixel H.264-based TV tuner capture and compression device, Qpixel has continued to build customer momentum and engage with various consumer electronics customers in Japan.
In bringing Mr. Tsukui on board as the Japan Country Manager, Qpixel adds a key industry player with an impressive career in the Japanese semiconductor and electronics market, most recently as the Japan President at M-Systems (acquired by SanDisk in Nov 2006). He has also worked as the APAC Manager for Vitesse Semiconductor, where he successfully set up their Japan office and tripled Vitesse’s Japan revenue in less than 4 years. In addition, during his tenure at AMD Japan, he led numerous sales and business accomplishments at AMD’s key accounts, which earned him several corporate awards and a reputation as one of AMD’s top regional sales managers.
