Summary of Position:

As Senior Architecture Manager in Qpixel technology development department, the primary role of this position is to develop next generation Qpixel video compression products across different marketing programs. Strong communication skills with different groups of the Qpixel team are fundamental to the responsibility.
 
The successful candidate has an excellent understanding of MPEG or H.264 video compression standards. Must be able to architect and implement complex logic from the conception stage and be able to demonstrate excellent logic design methodology.


Essential Responsibilities: Requirements:

  • Work with the Qpixel marketing team and potential customers on next generation video compression product requirements, specifications, and features.
  • Develop digital video algorithms for specific applications in the new products and providing full accurate documentations.
  • Develop system/ASIC architecture to trade off between system performance, video quality level, hardware cost, overall BOM, and ASIC power consumption. Software/hardware tasks partition optimization to provide sufficient flexibility and performance of the new products.
  • Work with VLSI team on micro-architecture of ASIC functional block as related to H.264 functionality. Develop test bench for VLSI design verification test.
  • Interact with software/hardware personnel in support of software and ASIC diagnostics development.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • BSEE/MSEE/PhD in EECS with a minimum of 7 year's demonstrated hands-on experiences in different areas under video compression ASIC product development environment.
  • Working knowledge in video quality improvements in the areas of digital video compression, video processing, video scalar, and video de-interlacing.
  • Proven working experience in ASIC architecture or ASIC digital design, working knowledge of DRAM bandwidth analysis, system performance analysis, software/hardware tasks partition, and hardware functional module partitions.
  • Exposure to basic C programming skills and JVT based H.264 algorithm c-code as well.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are a must.
