Summary of Position:

The position is key in the design and development of mixed-signal ASICs by evaluation and execution of verification plans. Including working closely with design engineers, participating in hardware testing and helping to ensure the Company delivers an error free ASIC product to customers on time.


Essential Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • RTL design and CODING. (MPEG2, MPEG4 and H.264)
  • Specification and all stages in the ASIC design flow including FPGA compile and emulation, prototyping, DFT, static timing analysis Primetime (STA), floorplanning, ECO, expert synthesis (DC), standalone verification, bringup, characterization of high-speed interfaces.
  • Significant simulation.
  • Test pattern development.
  • Engage each verification suite, write test plans and develop constrained random diagnosis.
  • Provide technical leadership in functional verification analysis.
  • Emulation test to validate Qpixel's SoC design.
  • Perform logic design of digital blocks.


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • BSEE or MSEE with at least 6 years experience in RTL design and ASIC verification; exceptional understanding of test methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in an engineering role where it can be shown that the applicant has had the responsibility for ASIC Design for commercially available, high volume products. 
  • Expert knowledge of Verilog and experience architecting verification test-benches using high level verification languages (such as Specman-E).
  • Hands-on experience with common peripheral interface and bus protocol.
  • Language Ability:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as Marketing Requirements Document, Schematics for various systems, Regulatory Standards, and Project Scheduling Documents. Ability to clearly communicate in the written form. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before management, employees, and outside service providers.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems with minimum supervision and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Good sense of computer architecture and hardware/software interaction.
  • Experience in writing/reading C models for hardware algorithm.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and/or TCL.
  • Basic understanding of embedded processor (System on Chip) architectures.
  • Basic understanding of standard ASIC bus protocols.
  • Basic understanding of Cadence/Synopsys EDA tools for logic synthesis.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team to fit in company culture.
  • Knowledge of video and audio standards and algorithm is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques is an advantage.
  • Extensive experience in static timing analysis, DFT insertion and clock tree analysis is a considerable advantage.
