Summary of Position :

The Field Application Engineer (Korea) is responsible for both pre-sales and post sales support. In the pre-sales support role the FAE will be working with the sales team to develop tools for customer engagement that assure an effective and short sales process. Specifically the individual will:

• Analyze customer's specifications and provide technical analysis to the sales and engineering teams to ensure the design meets customer's specifications.
  
• Provide pre-sales technical support with respect to product design, production process, development, engineering and quality assurance.
  
• Write application notes

The post sales aspect of this role involves supporting customers after a sale has been made so as to assure that the customer reaches production status as fast as possible. The individual is also responsible for product testing and feedback of market information to the engineering and marketing groups. Specific duties include:

• Schematic Reviews
  
• Board bring-up and debug
  
• Software Reviews
• Answer Technical Questions
  
• Participate in the definition, creation, and distribution of reference designs and SDKs
  
• Design and develop and test cases for embedded multimedia software and perform repeatable testing procedures.

This position will report to the Vice President of Sales and will be located in Korea.

Travel :

This position may require frequent travel to customer locations.

Requirements :

General

• BSEE/BSCS degree or equivalent
  
• 5-10 years software development experience or FAE experience required
  
• Strong problem solving and embedded system debugging skills
  
• Superior motivation, positive attitude
  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing
  
• Ability to multitask

Software

• Familiar with the ARM 926
  
• Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  
• Strong up-to-date knowledge of embedded software development including the GNU toolset for embedded systems (cross-compiler, remote debugging etc.) and the Linux development environment
  
• Understand embedded processor peripheral, device drivers, and interfaces for peripherals such as Ethernet controllers, USB controllers, etc.
  
• Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing practices preferred.
  
• Knowledge of MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H264, DivX, WMV, WMA, MP3, AAC, ITU-T standards
  
• Knowledge of network protocols, RTP, RTSP and UDP/IP

Hardware

• Ability to read and modify hardware schematics
  
• In-depth knowledge of hardware from a system standpoint
  
• Ability to perform initial board/system bring-up

Expert with common lab tools such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
