Qpixel is a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2003. Its president/CEO and co-founder, Wen Hsu has led the successful introductions of more than 10 video decoder and codec chips in his 17-year career with such companies as C-Cube, Oak Technology and Polycom.

The Qpixel engineering and management team has successful video product backgrounds in video IC, video processing algorithms, low power design, and low cost architecture and implementation, from companies such as C-cube, Oak, Conexant and Cirrus Logic. Qpixel employs over 60 professionals in the US, Japan, and Asia. 

Qpixel targets the high growth consumer digital media devices markets, focusing on digital home appliances and portable consumer electronics.  The 2006 combined TAM (total available market) for consumer digital media applications such as digital video and digital still cameras and digital home appliances is in excess of $1 billion.

The Qpixel product suite includes extremely low power, H.264-based standard and high definition codecs with on-chip audio DSP, customer evaluation and reference design kit. The design kit includes boards, firmware and design files needed for fast OEM time-to-production.
